SON Ministries Summer Lunch Camp – A children’s entrepreneurial camp; helping low-income children while school is not in session by serving free breakfast and lunch while facilitating camp activities including entrepreneurial learning. Combats suburban poverty.
Children’s Entrepreneurial Restaurants – Children run entrepreneurial restaurants for community members, utilizing skills including critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration skills. Children learn skills to get OUT of poverty.
Family ESL Program – Full family educational program where each family member is taking steps out of poverty trough education. Adults learn English through ESL classes and children (3 months- 12th grade) receive educational support. Full families are supported to get OUT of poverty.
Job Jump-START – Adults receive job readiness support including resume building, interview skills and other support services. Adults chances of securing jobs are increased.
Children’s Coat Store – New winter coats are distributed to children in poverty in Hilliard for $2 a coat. Children are supported.
The Good Tidings Christmas Store – Parents facing suburban poverty purchase new Christmas toys for their children at a reduced cost in a dignity-filled model. Families are supported with dignity.
Free Legal Clinic – Through partnership with Legal Aid, a monthly legal clinic is offered to families facing poverty. Families receive legal support at no cost.
Connecting Families to Resources- Families are connected to local resources through HilliardHelps.org, calling our office and other outreach.
Poverty Simulations- Participants are put through a month of stimulation poverty. Schools, churches and civic groups are educated to better serve their communities and populations.
